Location, location, location!

The Rosen College Campus is located in the largest, most modern facility ever built for hospitality management education. It houses one of the largest colleges of hospitality in the United States. Over 2,000 undergraduate students are part of the Rosen College community that is located near Orlando's International Drive, in the heart of the world's most famous tourist and entertainment destination. There are more than 49 million visitors a year to Central Florida. The area has 112,000 hotel rooms, over 5,000 restaurants, and 95 theme parks and attractions. The campus is located next to top opportunites for internships and management positions in the world's largest industry with $4 trillion in revenue annually. Nearly 100 hospitality management recruiters from many of the industry's giants come to the Rosen College campus every year to find new leaders and managers. How's that for location? We have the place. We have what it takes.

If you're looking for more first hand knowledge about the Rosen College campus, classes, residence halls or experience...take a look at the blog posts below. The blogs come from current Rosen College students and occassionally some of our Alumni stop by and contribute to update us on where they are now.

The Final Blog

The last blog. My plans for this semester are to have an amazing, relaxing, incredible summer. Generally I will be taking an online class and be working. Nothing to spectacular, but I will have time to kick back and relax. There is a new theme park opening in Myrtle Beach South Carolina that I plan on going to. It is being designed by Hard Rock, hence the name Hard Rock Park. There are some pretty cool ideas going into that park and I look forward to seeing how it will turn out. I plan on going… Continue

Class Enrollment

There’s only a few weeks left of the Spring Semester. That means it is now time to start enrolling in classes for summer/fall. Doesn’t seem like a big deal now, but it is very intense stuff. First you have to search through the classes and create your schedule. This takes a lot of time because certain classes are only offered at a certain time and you may not be able to put all the classes you want on your semester schedule. You are also going to have to make a “Plan B”. When it comes time for y… Continue

Spring Break

Spring Break is the most look forward to week in any students calendar. Spring break is the week that everyone gets to sit back, relax, and maybe hit the beautiful beaches Florida has to offer. Not for most Hospitality Management majors. For us it consists of working 10 hour shifts, 6 days of the week, with some of the biggest crowds of the year. See in this industry, any time there is a major holiday, where everyone is on vacation that means those who work the vacation spots are in over drive.… Continue

Summer Break is Around the Corner

Summer is rapidly approaching, and I’m looking forward to my summer break. I’m very excited because I am going to a have a new job for the first time in almost five years. For as long as I can remember, I always worked at a Bagel Shop. Up until I came down to Florida, I worked at that Bagel Shop year round. It was fun, but I’m glad that I am finally going to have a change in my life. This year, I secured a job working at the Niagara Falls Country Club, near Buffalo, New York. I am going to be w… Continue

This semester is winding down...

So this semester has gone by really quickly. I'm excited for this summer. When I first came to Rosen this past August, I thought that I would definitely be going home for the summer. However, now that summer is around the corner, I think that I'm just going to be staying in Orlando with a short visit back to Arizona. One of the main reasons that I have chosen to stay in Orlando is because I need to find a job within the next few weeks and it would be easier to keep that job instead of finding a… Continue

Summer Plans/ What's Next??? Final BLOG WRITE!

The year is almost over, and summer is almost here! It seems like just last week, we were all coming back from our Winter Break, and ready to begin the spring term, and now, with just one month left until classes and finals are over, we kiss the spring 2008 semester good-bye! Even though it’s not complete yet, I have really enjoyed this semester and I believe it will turn out for the best. I enrolled in fifteen credit hours for this current spring semester, which is also equivalent… Continue

Aquatica For FREE

SeaWorld has created an awesome water park called Aquatica that is located only five minutes from the Rosen College. I have been wanting to go check it out because I have been seeing the construction of the park and it looks very colorful. Also, it looked as though there were large structures being built. One day I received an email from an organization that I am involved with here at Rosen. HA (hospitality association) had sent me an email that invited me and a guest to come to Aquatica for a p… Continue
